I’m sure that if you’ve been on the internet building a business for any length of time now you would have heard the term “Creating Content” or “Content Creation”. All that this means is creating some material of marketing where you are providing some value to the views. Something like a blog like this one is full of content. You know, information that will help the readers better themselves in whatever the area the content is in.

So anyways, if you have done any content creation like making a video or writing an article, I’m sure that you would have realized that it’s not always the easiest thing to do. Creating content actually means that you need to have something of value to share.

Now I know that everyone has value to share that will help others but I also know that it doesn’t always pop into our heads when we want to do something like create a new post on our blog or get infront of that video camera.

What I wanted to share with you is how to get around this. To stop this blockage from happening because there is a real easy way to do this. Every single “guru” out there apairently does this so why can’t you?

Well you can and all you need to do is actively learn new things. Let me explain this a little more…

When we’re going out there and creating new content what we are actually doing is being a leader. We’re stepping up and saying to the whole world (well, internet world anyways ) is that I know something about this topic and I can guide people through this with ease. This is being a leader.

And what’s the secret to being a continual leader? It’s through continually learning.

Think about this for a minute, really, think about this. If I went to you and I took all of your information, everything that you know, why would I follow you? I wouldn’t. I would have no need to. I now would know everything that you know so I would have no more need to listen to you.

If you want to always have new powerful content to share and to put out there to attract people back to your sites and to your business, learn something. And I don’t mean go read someone else’s article and then just re-write it. Actually take something that you learn and apply it then share from your experience.

That is what I have done over and over again. Shared from what I have applied into my life.

To recap here, the secret to constantly creating new content is to be constantly learning new things. The more that you can learn, then more that you can share and the more that you share on the internet, the more people will come back to your site. That’s what I’ve found anyways.

Talk later

Steven Downward

PS: I know that August is almost wrapping up so I hope that your summer has gone really well. And to practice this concept of creating content from what you’ve learnt and experienced, I would love to hear one thing that you learned this summer. Just write it in the comment section below. This way, you’ll start to get some practice at this content creation from things that you’ve experienced in your life.

The last part of my Wordpress.org blog setup training, Plugins and Widgets. Plugins and Widgets are a must on a blog. You do not need a lot of them but they very much help your blog look good, flow nicly, and even generate you cash. So take the time and learn how to setup plugins and widgets on your wordpress.org blog. If you don't, your blog might look pretty basic.

Well, plugins and widgets are the 5th and final day in this wordpress.org blog training series. If you missed part 1 you can see it at http://StevenDownward.com/wordpress-blog-domai-hosting/. So let’s not sit around and waste a bunch of time so let’s get into the training.

Just click play and we will get started.

So as you saw in th video there, installing a plugin is something that is pretty chill. It does not take a rocket scientest to sit down and search for a plugin and then hit instal. The only thing that I mist mentioning in the video was that you will need to continually update the plugins that you have. But that too is real easy. When one needs to get updated there is a message on the top of your dashboard when you login. All you need to do there is just click update.

Now the widgets. Widgets are something that you most deffinatly want to have on your blog. There are some very important things like an opt-in box that you really should have on your WordPress.org blog. But if you are not comfortable with coding, hire someone. The money is really well worth you spending. Having good looking widgets can be the difference between someone coming to your blog and reading it compaired to someone that just comes and clicks away. Have your blog look good.

So I hope that you have enjoyed this WordPress.org blog training series. It is really something that is not too bad to set up. But if you do not like the idea of having to go through all of that and you would like someone to do it for you, you can head over to ProBlogsSetup and they will set the whole thing up for you. They even do customized blog themes with having an opt-in and the social media all built in. They do some great looking blogs.

Have a good one my friends and we’ll chat soon.

Steven Downward

PS: Blogs are a major part in the whole Online Business Puzzle. Most people seem to miss this so give me a hand a tweet this out so that people can learn the correct way of blogging. Thanks.

This is by far one of the most fun parts of setting up your own WordPress.org blog, the theme that you pick for it. Setting up a theme for a wordpress.org blog is something that is fairly easy to do.

But if you missed this from the beginning, here is the link back to the start, http://stevendownward.com/wordpress-blog-domain-hosting/

So let’s get into it and start setting up your theme. Just click the play button to get the training going.

As you can tell in the video, this is not something that is all that hard to do and it is actually pretty fun. You get to design what you want your blog to look like. What kind of color design would you like, what kind of options you would you like? These are all fun things to think about.

The one big thing that I want you to remember is not to get stress out about this. It is not like you are picking a theme and it will be there for the rest of time. You can change it whenever you like so just have some fun and do what feels good to you.

I mentioned a few places where you can get different themes. So I thought I would list them out for you here.

WooThemes – This is where I got my theme and the one that I showed you. I like them because they have lots to choose from and the options that you get with the themes are great.

WordPress.org – I showed you this and it had over a thousand different themes to choose from so you can just look away till you find something you like.

WarriorForum – Here you can have someone totally custom design you a blog theme. Just look in the Warrior For Hire section and you can check a bunch of them out.

The last thing that I wanted to mention was about buying a theme or getting one for free. You can do either one, it really does not make a different in the long run. The one thing that I have found though is that the free WordPress.org themes do not have the same kind of options as one that you paid for. So you might have to do a bit of extra work on it.

So I hope that this has helped you get your WordPress.org blog up and looking good.

Talk soon.

Steven Downward

PS: If you already have a wordpress.org blog, please leave a comment and include your link back to your blog on it. The more different styles of blogs that new people get a chance to see, the better. So please, share your blog with the community by leaving a link in my comment section below. Thanks.

Setting up your WordPress.org blog is so easy with Fantastico. That is what we will be doing today in part 3 of this WordPress.org training as well as a bit of a walkthrough of your WordPress.org back office.

If you are just coming into this now, here it is from the start of the blog training so that you can go through it all and not miss any steps. http://stevendownward.com/wordpress-blog-domain-hosting/

So check out the video and follow along as we get your blog up and running using the wonderful tool called Fantastico.

This is truly where the real fun begins. Now that we have our blog set up we can start to customize it and turn it into something that is your own. In the next training we will be getting into the layout and the design of your wordpress.org blog.

We are very close to having it completely up and running so that you can start marketing it, branding yourself, and generating an income from it. So important in building a successful online business.

Talk to you later.

Steven Downward

PS: Blogs can truly be a powerful tool on the internet. Once we have one set up, there is no end to what we can do with it. I would love to hear what you are going to be using your blog for. Is a branding blog, a sales blog, or just a way of sharing your life? I would love to hear about it. Just let me know in the comment section below.

PSS: Here is Part 4 of this WordPress.org blog training series. http://stevendownward.com/wordpress-org-theme/

Part 2 of this Wordpress.org series is something that I feel is so very important only because I spent hours trying to figure out how to do something that only takes 5 minutes to do. So do not go and waist that time that I waisted. Spend the 10 minutes and watch this training on nameservers.

This is the second part in this series for walking you through how to set up your own wordpress.org blog. If you have not seen the first part yet you can check it out here: http://stevendownward.com/wordpress-blog-domain-hosting/

In this part we are going to be disussing something called Nameservers. So click the play button and see this training.

So like I said, this is a bit of a depature from setting up the blog because when you get your hosting from Host Gator they get you to set up your primary domain. But I do feel that this is something that is very important because you still need to know some of the steps that we talked about. Also, if you want to do anything else online, understanding how to move a nameserver is totally important.

So in the next part, we will get into how to put the blog on to your hosted domain. This is so cool because very shortly, you are going to have your own central hub when all of your branding will originate. So much fun.

Talk to you later.

Steve

PS: I would love to hear if this part has helped you out because I know that for me, I watched about 4 different YouTube video’s and I still struggled. So please, just leave a comment below and let me know. I would love to hear your feelings.

PSS: Check out part 3 of this training where we get into setting up the WordPress blog on our actual domain and hosting. Take a look at it here: http://StevenDownward.com/wordpress-blog-fantastico

This is the first in this video series on what you would need to do to set up your own WordPress.org blog. Over the next few days we will go through what you will need to do to set up the whole thing from beginning to end.

Here is the first part in the series.

Like I was saying, doing this first part of setting up your domain name with Your Power Host and getting the hosing that you need from Host Gator is pretty easy. Literally the hardest part is choosing what you what your domain to be.

If you are in a business where you are more marketing you, I would recommend getting a domain name that has something to do with your name. Since you are the brand, have your domain name to be your name.

Think about it this way, when people learn about you from your different marketing efforts and they go to Google to look you up, when they see a site with your name on it, they will trust you more. That is the power of the branding.

So go out there and get your domain and get your hosting all set up so that by the time you watch part 2, you will already be set ready to go.

Talk soon

PS: I mentioned my free course in the video that goes into more depth about what you need a blog for and how to use it. It also goes through the other aspects that one needs in creating a successful online business. If you are wanting to actually have a plan laid out for what you need to create online, check out the course on the top right of this page.

PSS: Here is Part 2 of the training series: http://StevenDownward.com/wordpress-org-blog-nameservers/
