I’m sure that if you’ve been on the internet building a business for any length of time now you would have heard the term “Creating Content” or “Content Creation”.  All that this means is creating some material of marketing where you are providing some value to the views.  Something like a blog like this one is full of content.  You know, information that will help the readers better themselves in whatever the area the content is in. 

So anyways, if you have done any content creation like making a video or writing an article, I’m sure that you would have realized that it’s not always the easiest thing to do.  Creating content actually means that you need to have something of value to share. 

Now I know that everyone has value to share that will help others but I also know that it doesn’t always pop into our heads when we want to do something like create a new post on our blog or get infront of that video camera. 

What I wanted to share with you is how to get around this.  To stop this blockage from happening because there is a real easy way to do this.  Every single “guru” out there apairently does this so why can’t you?

Well you can and all you need to do is actively learn new things.  Let me explain this a little more…

When we’re going out there and creating new content what we are actually doing is being a leader.  We’re stepping up and saying to the whole world (well, internet world anyways ) is that I know something about this topic and I can guide people through this with ease.  This is being a leader. 

And what’s the secret to being a continual leader?  It’s through continually learning. 

Think about this for a minute, really, think about this.  If I went to you and I took all of your information, everything that you know, why would I follow you?  I wouldn’t.  I would have no need to.  I now would know everything that you know so I would have no more need to listen to you.

If you want to always have new powerful content to share and to put out there to attract people back to your sites and to your business, learn something.  And I don’t mean go read someone else’s article and then just re-write it.  Actually take something that you learn and apply it then share from your experience. 

That is what I have done over and over again.  Shared from what I have applied into my life. 

To recap here, the secret to constantly creating new content is to be constantly learning new things.  The more that you can learn, then more that you can share and the more that you share on the internet, the more people will come back to your site.  That’s what I’ve found anyways.

Today I put together a training on something that I have been doing successfully for over a year, Getting Free Traffic. 

So check out this video to see one of the ways that I have been getting a ton of free traffic and what you need to do to get it too for your business.

Like I was showing you in the video, Article Marketing is by far one of the easiest ways to generate free traffic.  Not only are there a lot of people bouncing around the different article directories, but the search engines like Google and Bing love articles.  They love them so much because as a general rule, articles have a lot of value.  If they don’t offer value, the directories generally will not allow them to be published.

And here is that list of article directories that I suggest that you start out with.  Remember, you’re not limited to any number of directories so you can submit an article to just one of them or to all of them.  The choice is yours.

All of these are great places to start and even some of these, you can earn some extra income from them just for writing and article that does well.  (And that is what we want anyways)

Now take this training and get at it.  See if you can write 5 new articles before the week is out and submit them to these directories.  If you do your Keyword Research well you might even be able to make some cash this week from the marketing.

I really felt an urge the last couple of days to do some real serious marketing training.  I know that I haven’t done much actual marketing training in the last little while and I really want to share something with you that has really helped my business out with getting more traffic back to my business.  

So let’s talk about YouTube, the Mother of all video marketing sites. 

Now I hope that you take what I said seriously.  Knowing what is working and what is not working is very important to having success.  Just like understanding that if you want to get more people back to your site, you need to have your site address right at the beginning of your description.  I see people all the time not doing this and it really lowers the number of clicks that you get. 

Also, taking a real hard look at what you are doing right with your videos and where are the people coming from is huge.  If you know that the majority of your traffic comes from Google, then what else can you do to get more traffic from Google.  Just by doing this one thing, you can really improve your success and your traffic, and really, isn’t that what we would all love to have more of, traffic.

So know your stuff.  Take what you learned here in this training and apply it.  Get it on the road and use it.

I felt the need to create this post around something that I found to be a big game changer for me and my business.  Now this is not some specific strategy or technique that I did to get my business to run smoother or to operate better.  It’s something that a friend and mentor said to me that really hit home and once I started applying it, things really started to move.

What I’m talking about is how to get traffic back to your site. 

Now I know that you have heard that there are many different ways to get traffic and this is totally true.  There are literally hundreds of different ways that a business can get people to come back to their site and see what is going on.  But this one thing that was said to me that was a real game changer was around the word focus and mastery.

What do I mean by this?  Well it’s really simple. 

You need to master a specific method of traffic generation.  I’m guessing that you have heard this before because I know that I’ve heard this from dozens of different places and it makes total sense.  Let me explain this in a real simple example.

If you have ever been to a pond where there are a bunch of Lilly Pads on it, you will know that when they start to grow there becomes a lot of leaves on the waters surface.  Now just think if you through a rock out into the middle of the group of lilly pads thinking that you will be able to hit one if you just through the rock in their direction.  But what happens, normally, you miss all of them. 

Why is that?  It’s because you didn’t focus on hitting a specific one so you missed all of them.  This is how it works with marketing you business. 

Because there are so many different ways to get your site out there, people try to do all of them and what happens is nothing works.  There ends up being very little traffic coming back to the site and you don’t make any money.

So what this big game change for me was when I made the decision to take one style of marketing and one profit center and really focus my energies on mastering this method and area.  This has given me bunch more success in business and has produced me a lot more profits.

I choose to pick a specific marketing method, a specific niche, and a specific product.  I stopped trying to chase all the different profet centers with all these different marketing styles.  Instead, I focused on one marketing method and getting results with this one method. 

I kept changing and tweeking things until I had marketing and a sales funnel that generated me traffic, leads, and sales.  Now that I have done this once, it is way easier to either expand on this method or try something new.  I know for myself, I have choosen to expand on my current methods.  I feel that this is the best way for me to grow my business the fastest.  But, you need to decide what is best for you and your business.

But first, pick a marketing style, a sales style, and a specific lead product and then go to work.  Get your system running smoothly and turning you in a profit.  Once you commit yourself to this practice of business and you apply it, you will start to see results.

PS: Just so that you understand how much power this really has, I have been able to take a site and over the last 6 months, quadrupling the traffic comming to it, and increase my conversions from under 5% to well over 39% earning me thousands of dollars.

I wanted to share with you today a cool tool called Selective Tweets.  This Facebook app has helped me save so much time and energy with not always having to go Facebook and Twitter to have a presence them.  What this lets you do is you can post something on Twitter and it will show up on Facebook but…   Not everything you write on Twitter will show up Facebook. 

Check out this video so you can see what I mean and I will walk you through what you need to do to set  up Selective Tweets.

I am sure that you get it that you don’t want to get stuck in social media land when you have other things to do.  This is why Selective Tweets is so great.  I can be posting things on twitter and they will show up in both locations.  This is huge. 

Before I found this, I was going in to my Facebook and into my Twitter every single time I wanted to share something.  It was taking me so much more time to just share something like a tweet or a video.  With Selective Tweets, I have been able to get to both networks when I want and it has given me more time to do other things.  So cool

I know that if you apply this into your business, you will definitely be spending more time doing the things that are really productive.  And that is really important.

I just found out about this SEO tool that I have had for a while but I just learned what it does.  And seriously, this is an important tool if you are doing any sort of SEO.

This one little tools can show you if it is a good idea so create a backlink back to your site or not and trust me, if you are doing any sort of SEO, you will want to know this type of information.

So like I was saying in the video, there is a lot of power in this.  For the longest time to see if the links off of a site were nofollow links or not, I would actually look up the HTML coding to find out.  That is rediculous.  This one little tool give so much power and so much ease is increadable. 

You can get this tool from the great guy’s over at SEO Book who have taugh me so much about SEO, it’s not even funny.  Just download their free toolbar and it’s on there.

This is actually very easy to do.  It is also something that wo need to be doing constantly as you do any sort of SEO work.  Now I do not mean just for your own site but more importantly, from the sites that you are getting your backlinks from.  You will want you determine page rank for the these other sites.  Why do you want to do this?  Simple.

The page rank is a tool that Google has created so that they can gage how trustworthy a site is.  They use a scale from 0 to 10, 0 being “we don’t really know this site” and 10 being “this is a great site and we like it”.  In the way of doing any sort of SEO backlinks, you will want to know the page rank, or PR, of a site.  The higher the page rank of a site, the more power that the link brings to it. 

Think of it this way.  If a stranger told you about a movie you should go see, you’ll just think “That was good to hear” and you might go watch the movie or you might not.  But if your best friend told you to go check out a movie, you’d probably go and check it out.

That’s what the page rank does for you.  So I have got a couple of options for you to determine page rank of a site.  Just check out the video below and I will walk you through exactly where to get them and what you need to do.

I wanted to share something with you that has made a major difference on the resulst that I have gotten for my busienss.  It’s called Website Optimizer.  I am not sure if you have heard of this before but it is soemthing that is very useful and powerful for any sort of online marketing. 

Think of it this way.  You have a website on the net and your goal with the site is to sell some sort of a product.  So you have your sales page all set up and you feel that it’s perfect.  So you go out ther and you are marketing that site to sell the product for you.  Low and behold, you sell some of your product from the site.  (That is what normally happens, right???)

But if we sit back and say, I am spending this much time and/or money to get people to come to my site, how can I maximize the traffic that the page gets.

This is were Website Optimizer is perfect. 

What this tool lets you do is split test your site.  Any site.  It does not matter what kind of site or the purpose of the site.  All you need to do is create a alternate version of your sales page.  Then you set up Website Optimizer to do the work for you. 

I grabed a tutorial from Google about Website Optimizer so take a look.  This tutorial is all about how to do a basic A/B test.  Check it out.

Do you now understand the power of Website Optimizer.  You can spit test any single page that you have on the net so that you are getting the best possible results that you can. 

I have used this to take one of my landing pages from converting at 2.78% to 14.29%.  That is a huge increase.  That ment that for every 100 people that came to that page, I was getting 11.51 more people to become a lead.  That is crazy. 

Needless to say you need to check this tool out if you are not already using it.  And the best part of all of this is that it is FREE.  Does not cost a penny to use.

So as you saw in th video there, installing a plugin is something that is pretty chill.  It does not take a rocket scientest to sit down and search for a plugin and then hit instal.  The only thing that I mist mentioning in the video was that you will need to continually update the plugins that you have.  But that too is real easy.  When one needs to get updated there is a message on the top of your dashboard when you login.  All you need to do there is just click update.

Now the widgets.  Widgets are something that you most deffinatly want to have on your blog.  There are some very important things like an opt-in box that you really should have on your Wordpress.org blog.  But if you are not comfortable with coding, hire someone.  The money is really well worth you spending.  Having good looking widgets can be the difference between someone coming to your blog and reading it compaired to someone that just comes and clicks away.  Have your blog look good.

So I hope that you have enjoyed this Wordpress.org blog training series.  It is really something that is not too bad to set up.  But if you do not like the idea of having to go through all of that and you would like someone to do it for you, you can head over to ProBlogsSetup and they will set the whole thing up for you.  They even do customized blog themes with having an opt-in and the social media all built in.  They do some great looking blogs.

This is by far one of the most fun parts of setting up your own Wordpress.org blog, the theme that you pick for it.  Setting up a theme for a wordpress.org blog is something that is fairly easy to do.

So let’s get into it and start setting up your theme.  Just click the play button to get the training going.

As you can tell in the video, this is not something that is all that hard to do and it is actually pretty fun.  You get to design what you want your blog to look like.  What kind of color design would you like, what kind of options you would you like?  These are all fun things to think about.

The one big thing that I want you to remember is not to get stress out about this.  It is not like you are picking a theme and it will be there for the rest of time.  You can change it whenever you like so just have some fun and do what feels good to you. 

I mentioned a few places where you can get different themes.  So I thought I would list them out for you here.

WooThemes – This is where I got my theme and the one that I showed you.  I like them because they have lots to choose from and the options that you get with the themes are great.

Wordpress.org – I showed you this and it had over a thousand different themes to choose from so you can just look away till you find something you like.

WarriorForum – Here you can have someone totally custom design you a blog theme.  Just look in the Warrior For Hire section and you can check a bunch of them out.

The last thing that I wanted to mention was about buying a theme or getting one for free.  You can do either one, it really does not make a different in the long run.  The one thing that I have found though is that the free Wordpress.org themes do not have the same kind of options as one that you paid for.  So you might have to do a bit of extra work on it.
