I’m sure that if you’ve been on the internet building a business for any length of time now you would have heard the term “Creating Content” or “Content Creation”.  All that this means is creating some material of marketing where you are providing some value to the views.  Something like a blog like this one is full of content.  You know, information that will help the readers better themselves in whatever the area the content is in. 

So anyways, if you have done any content creation like making a video or writing an article, I’m sure that you would have realized that it’s not always the easiest thing to do.  Creating content actually means that you need to have something of value to share. 

Now I know that everyone has value to share that will help others but I also know that it doesn’t always pop into our heads when we want to do something like create a new post on our blog or get infront of that video camera. 

What I wanted to share with you is how to get around this.  To stop this blockage from happening because there is a real easy way to do this.  Every single “guru” out there apairently does this so why can’t you?

Well you can and all you need to do is actively learn new things.  Let me explain this a little more…

When we’re going out there and creating new content what we are actually doing is being a leader.  We’re stepping up and saying to the whole world (well, internet world anyways ) is that I know something about this topic and I can guide people through this with ease.  This is being a leader. 

And what’s the secret to being a continual leader?  It’s through continually learning. 

Think about this for a minute, really, think about this.  If I went to you and I took all of your information, everything that you know, why would I follow you?  I wouldn’t.  I would have no need to.  I now would know everything that you know so I would have no more need to listen to you.

If you want to always have new powerful content to share and to put out there to attract people back to your sites and to your business, learn something.  And I don’t mean go read someone else’s article and then just re-write it.  Actually take something that you learn and apply it then share from your experience. 

That is what I have done over and over again.  Shared from what I have applied into my life. 

To recap here, the secret to constantly creating new content is to be constantly learning new things.  The more that you can learn, then more that you can share and the more that you share on the internet, the more people will come back to your site.  That’s what I’ve found anyways.

I felt the need to create this post around something that I found to be a big game changer for me and my business.  Now this is not some specific strategy or technique that I did to get my business to run smoother or to operate better.  It’s something that a friend and mentor said to me that really hit home and once I started applying it, things really started to move.

What I’m talking about is how to get traffic back to your site. 

Now I know that you have heard that there are many different ways to get traffic and this is totally true.  There are literally hundreds of different ways that a business can get people to come back to their site and see what is going on.  But this one thing that was said to me that was a real game changer was around the word focus and mastery.

What do I mean by this?  Well it’s really simple. 

You need to master a specific method of traffic generation.  I’m guessing that you have heard this before because I know that I’ve heard this from dozens of different places and it makes total sense.  Let me explain this in a real simple example.

If you have ever been to a pond where there are a bunch of Lilly Pads on it, you will know that when they start to grow there becomes a lot of leaves on the waters surface.  Now just think if you through a rock out into the middle of the group of lilly pads thinking that you will be able to hit one if you just through the rock in their direction.  But what happens, normally, you miss all of them. 

Why is that?  It’s because you didn’t focus on hitting a specific one so you missed all of them.  This is how it works with marketing you business. 

Because there are so many different ways to get your site out there, people try to do all of them and what happens is nothing works.  There ends up being very little traffic coming back to the site and you don’t make any money.

So what this big game change for me was when I made the decision to take one style of marketing and one profit center and really focus my energies on mastering this method and area.  This has given me bunch more success in business and has produced me a lot more profits.

I choose to pick a specific marketing method, a specific niche, and a specific product.  I stopped trying to chase all the different profet centers with all these different marketing styles.  Instead, I focused on one marketing method and getting results with this one method. 

I kept changing and tweeking things until I had marketing and a sales funnel that generated me traffic, leads, and sales.  Now that I have done this once, it is way easier to either expand on this method or try something new.  I know for myself, I have choosen to expand on my current methods.  I feel that this is the best way for me to grow my business the fastest.  But, you need to decide what is best for you and your business.

But first, pick a marketing style, a sales style, and a specific lead product and then go to work.  Get your system running smoothly and turning you in a profit.  Once you commit yourself to this practice of business and you apply it, you will start to see results.

PS: Just so that you understand how much power this really has, I have been able to take a site and over the last 6 months, quadrupling the traffic comming to it, and increase my conversions from under 5% to well over 39% earning me thousands of dollars.

Being the head, the CEO, of a business, you end up having a lot of different things come across your desk.  I don’t know if you have noticed this or not but I know that I sure have.  All these different things from marketing to systems to finance to sales and everything in between. 

But what I felt the urge to talk about today is not any one of these things in specific, but rather where you need to be fitting into all of these.

You see, there’s one major thing that every CEO needs to be doing.  We need to determine what we like to do and what we’re good at and then get other people, outsource, the rest. 

What do I mean when I say what we like to and what we’re good at?  It’s really not all that hard when you think about it.  Take some time and ask yourself these 2 questions.

“What is it that I can do that I will accept no one else doing but me?”

“What are the things that I can do to bring in the most revenue for the business?”

You see, the first question is getting you to priorities what you need to do that no one else can.  Now this will vary for every business and every person.  Some people are fine with hiring a CFO to make sure their finances are being taken care of properly where other would feel that they need to do this themselves. 

But really put some though on it because these tasks that you will not let anyone else do needs to be one of your priorities and things that you need to become very good at. 

The second question there really focuses on your skills, what are you good at.  If you’re really good at and like being on camera but you suck at building a site, you might want to get a system or a person to help you with the site and you focus on being on the camera for marketing and sales. 

I will give you an example from my own life and business.  I suck at design work.  You know, making something look great like a website or a power-point presentation.  When ever I try something around this arena, it just ends up looking bad and not professional. 

So, I’ve learned to outsource it.  I get someone else to do it that is good at it.  Through doing this, I fee up my time, I’m don’t get frustrated with it, and I have an end product that looks really good and that I’m actually happy with.

This is what you need to do in your business.  Figure Out What You’re Really Good At And Then Outsource The Rest. And if you’re worried about the money and the cost, trust me, you will get a better return when you have a proffessional do something that you’re not good at.

Take this to heart and look at your business.  See what you can focus on to grow your business the fastest.

So what really gets you going when building your business?  Many people think that they know and that they are focused on it but, do they really? 

I know for a fact that many people think that they know their “WHY” but, they don’t.  They know the “why” that they have been told that they should have.  They never really looked with in themselves to really find out their “why”. 

Let me explain more in this video that I put together…

As I said in the video, many people say that their why is “to help other people”.  But to me, that is very small and what everyone says.  I believe that it may be to serve others but it goes deeper than to just help people.  Think bigger on this.  I’m sure that it is something that really goes deep.

I know for me, it’s the game of business that really gets me excited.  I get all fired up and high energy when I’m playing the game of business.  The more in-depth it gets, the better.  The contributing to people lives comes as a by product of what I love to do.  It’s like it’s a report card of how well my business is going.  If I’m not contributing to a lot of peoples live, then my business isn’t doing well.  Plain and simple. 

But what about you?  What really get’s you excited and fired up?  I know that it is something that’s really big and that’s worth your time.  So think about it.  I mean really put some big thought on this.  Find what drives your energy up quickly, easily, and powerfully.  If you start to think about it and you automatically smile with the excitement, you know that you are on the right track.

OK.  This is something that I have wanted to share for a little bit and today just seemed like the right time for me to share this with you.  Now I have to admit, this is not some business strategy or marketing tip.  This is more to do with a life tip.  But the funny thing is that these life tips play a bigger role in how we run our business than anything else. 

Let me explain…

I don’t know if you realize the power of this.  This is what I have experienced that has made the biggest changes in my life and I have grown and done the most when I’m present.  I am sure that if you think about it, you will find this to be true for you too.

When we live in the present moment, there are no fears.  You see, fear is about something that is coming, ie, the future.  When you are present and in the moment, there are no thoughts of the future which make fear non-existent.  All you are doing is being you and doing your best in this moment.  Through doing this, you can achieve great things. 

Now I talked about a quote from a great movie called “Kung Fu Panda“.  In the movie, this old 1000 year of turtle talks about the present and how it is a gift.  So here is that quote.

“You are too concerned with what was and what will be.  There is a saying, yesterday is a history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift, THAT IS WHY IT IS CALLED THE PRESENT.”

If you read this quote and really listen to what it he is saying, you will understand that through living in the moment is where is where the real power of life is.  Not in the future or in the past but the moment, the now.

I hope that you take this and you life in your moment right now.  The sooner that you do, the happier you will be.

I hope that you are having a great day today because I know that I am.  But that’s not the reason for this. 

I have something that I wanted to share that can really help your business.  Now I don’t know if you realize this or not but you need to understand the value that you are bring to your market.  Now VALUE, what am I meaning by that?

Well I am talking about how you, your business, helps the people in your market, so the people that you want to become customers, how do you change their lives.  Because this is a very important question that you need to be asking yourself and you need to know the answer like you know the back of your hand.

You need to know this because this is why your prospects and leads decide to become a customer and buy from you. 

It’s the value that you offer.  but it goes beyond just you knowing what value you are giving to your market.  It’s them knowing what value you offer them. 

Nobody On This Planet Buys Anything Unless They Feel That There Is Value In What They Purchase. 

So you need to make sure that you’re conveying to your prospects what your business can do for them.  They need to know how you will be able to help them enrich their lives.  This is what get’s people to buy.

Now take what you heard in that video and apply it to your business.  That’s the key here for me.  That’s what I love to see.  I love watching businesses grow.  It gets me so fired up seeing how people build their business and how that business impacts so many people.  But you need to take this and get it on the road.  The quicker the better.

Hey guy’s and gal’s

I felt like I wanted to share something with you that I feel pretty strongly about.  It’s just as the title of this post says, “What is even the point of starting a business”?

I know the main reason that people give for starting a business.  They want to be wealthy or they wanted control over their time.  But that to me is not what the essence of what a business really is.

To me, a business ends up having it’s own life energy.  Now I know that this sound a bit weird but if you have been around any business that is really moving and shaking, it has it’s own energy.  At this point, it is not about the owner or the shareholders, it’s about what “the business” wants and needs.

Now this energy that the business ends up having has nothing to do with making the creator rich.  That is just crap.

What it has to do with is the purpose for that business, the reason that the business was really started to begin with.  See every business is doing it’s best to improve the lives of other people.  Let me say that again,

EVERY BUSINESS ON THIS PLANET IS DOING IT’S BEST TO IMPROVE THE LIVES OF OTHER PEOPLE

Now that to me is the real reason that someone starts a business.  They feel that they can make a difference in the world and they take action to make this happen.  That is what has happened with every single successful business out there.

Think about it for a minute, really, stop and think about it.  What is the purpose of companies like Facebook, Google, Apple, Sprint, Rich Dad, British Airways, and countless more.  All of these companies are out there trying to make other people lives better.

It just so happens that profits are a by product of creating success so that is what people see but it’s not the root.  The root is that some person, some entrepreneur, saw a way that they could improve or make someones life easier and that is why the business was created.

For myself, I know exactly why I’m building my business.  I know why there is a need for what I do.  I know this because I lived it for myself.  I hated trying to figure out how to build a business successfully and I want to make it way easier for other people.  It just sucks going through all that crap when there are far easier ways of doing things.

So as you go out there to your day to day activities of building your own particular business, make sure you know what value your business is bring to the world.  If the only purpose of the business is to line your pocket book, then you need to stop right now because the world is too smart for that and people will see right through you.

Take the time and really find out why you are building your business.  What is the real purpose of your business?  Because the sooner that you figure this out, the sooner your business will start to create an energy of it’s own.

Now I do not know if you have ever heard of the Law of Vibration before but it is a Universal Law that is really powerful.  So I am going to explain it how I have come to understand it.

You see, there are many laws in this Universe and each one of them have their own point and purpose.  The Law of Vibration is the law that controls the well known Law of Attraction.  This is why there are so many people that are out there saying that they have tried to use the Law of Attraction but it did not work.  Of course it did not work, they were not using the Law of Vibration.

So what is the Law of Vibration anyways?

It basically boils down to this.  Every person and every thing in this universe is made up of one thing, energy.  Now energy is always in a state of motion and we have the ability to control that motion.  We do this through our emotions.

If we are wanting to attract something into our life, we can put all the thought that we want into it but if there is no feelings behind it, strong positive feelings, we will not attract it.  The energy waves that we put out will not be there if there is not feeling behind it.

That is why people are saying that the Law of Attraction is not working, these people are not really feeling the emotions of having what it is that they are wanting to manifest.

It goes like this, say you want to attract one million dollars.  Now you might say that you want a million dollars and you might even say that you have a million dollars, but if you do not actually believe that you can have a million dollars, you will not have the emotion that you need behind it to really attract it.

For me that is why I really like working on my belief system.  If my beliefs are in alignment then I have an easier time with being truly excited about what it is that I am manifesting.

If you are wanting to manifest anything, you need to be utilizing the Law of Vibration and getting your emotional self behind what it is that you are thinking of.  The more emotion that you have around the thought, the faster it comes into your life.

It is really that simple.

So I urge you to learn more about this law if you are wanting to really use the Law of Vibration and the Law of Attraction.  Through understand them and understanding your beliefs, you can create anything that you want.  I am truly not kidding here.

I wanted to share something that hit a bit home for me last weekend and I wanted to share it with you.  It has to do with being Reactive vs Proactive.  Let me explain what I am meaning by this.

Last weekend I went and I took a 2 day course on goal setting and goal achieving.  Now in the course the facilitator talked about the difference between being a Reactive person or being a Proactive person.  This is something that I had heard before and thought that I really understood it.  But I realized something that for me took it to a completely new level so, I thought I would share this with you.

Let me start off with being Reactive.  What it means to be reactive is that when things happen to you, you react.  Basically it’s like a knee jerk reaction.  You do not put any thought into it or take any time to think about it.  All you are doing is giving away your power.

It happens like this, there is a stimulus and the you respond, so stimulus -> response, stimulus -> response, etc…

Now this is not a good way to live your life or to run your business.  You are basically running around in crisis mode all the time and you never have any of your real power.

The flip side of this is being Proactive.  When you are proactive, you are in control of things and you do not give away your power.  When things happen to you you do not let the knee jerk reaction to happen.  You give it the second, even a microsecond, to let yourself keep your power and act accordingly.

This works like this, there is a stimulus, you pause or think, then you respond.  So stimulus -> think -> response, stimulus -> think -> response.

Through doing this, you are keeping control.  What this also does is it keeps you out of crisis mode.  What normally happens if you are being proactive, you normally get signals a head of time for some problem that might come up and you solve them them.  Proactive people solve issues before they ever become an issue.

How does this impact your online business?

Well it is actually quite simple.  No matter what business you have or are involved in, you are going to have tough times.  You are going to have things that happen that you might not like.  If you just react to the situation, you might not get the results that you might have other wise thought would happen.

But if you were proactive, you would have taken a step back and thought how can I make this work or, you might have delt with it long before it ever became an issue.

I hope that this has helped you with your business in some fassion.

PS: I also wanted to mention that through mastering this, it will also help your relationships that you have.  Because we all know that in relationships, there are going to be times that were not quite as much fun or the other person is doing something that you do not totally agree with.

If you just react to the situation, you might end up hurting that relationship.  And if there is tension in a relationship, particularly a personal one, we tend not to feel very well.

So make the choice to be proactive in all areas of your life.  You will be glad that you did.
